Who can apply for LATP funding?
Both women and men who are members of the Innu Nation, Nunatsiavut Government beneficiaries and NunatuKavut Community Council members, and who wish to engage in training for employment in resource based industry as well as positions within the communities, are eligible to apply for assistance.
 
What does funding cover?
All training programs have been selected because of their relevance to the Vale underground expansion. If you are selected for support, the funding through LATP will assist Aboriginal individuals in covering the costs of:
  • Child care
  • Living allowance
  • Materials required for learning
  • Tuition
  • Tutoring
  • Travel allowances associated with training away from home

Please ask one of our Career Counsellors if you require other assistance such as:
  • Access to computer and fax
  • Accessing photo ID for your medical
  • Helping you practice employment interview skills
  • Preparing or updating your resumes
  • Referrals to other support agencies
 
How can you apply?
There are a number of options for those interested in applying for LATP training. Individuals can either apply:
  • Directly through the LATP office in Happy Valley-Goose Bay
  • Downloading the forms below, completed the forms and sending them to our office.
  • Through LATP satellite offices in Charlottetown, Nain and Sheshatshiu
