Trades Underground Safety
TRADES Common Service Core
This program is specifically designed for apprentices in TRADES that are applicable to the Voisey's Bay requirements. If you are a tradesperson, you may be required to work underground sometimes. This training will help you work safely in the underground environment.

There is a significant demand for Electricians and HDEtechs at this time, but we will consider training welders, insulators, millwrights, mechanics and other trades.

LATP will support travel to Sudbury, Ontario where trainees will spend 2 days learning how to work safely in the underground environment. The first day is classroom based and includes procedures for tag in-tag out. The second day of training is held in the underground mine, where trainees will learn first-hand about potential hazards and how to work safely. Participants are required to take their own PPE (as per the Norcat list). Norcat Information - Sudbury
